Putting in place systems for constructive engagement

In 2010, we continued our efforts to establish consistent standards of engagement with all the stakeholders affected by our work, including local communities, Joint Venture partners and government officials.

While there were particular challenges over the year in relation to such issues as land acquisition, we were able to work with stakeholders to complete a substantial proportion of our Uquo to Ikot Abasi pipeline development, despite experiencing one of the heaviest rainy seasons for 20 years. At the same time, we managed well-related activities and supported community engagement at the Uquo Marginal Field and at Stubb Creek.

Seven Energy is playing its part in Nigeria’s Public Private Partnership to improve national energy supplies. We are working with the Akwa Ibom state-owned Ibom Power Company (IPC) which supplies electricity into the regional grid for domestic consumption.
