In a country of high unemployment and uneven employee rights, Seven Energy strives to be a fair and transparent employer. In 2010, as our workforce grew by more than 50%, we created a separate Human Resources (HR) function for the first time, appointing an HR Manager and introducing new policies and procedures to cover such areas as recruitment and performance management.
In this, we seek to go above and beyond the requirement to look after the welfare of all our employees. All of our permanent staff are entitled to such benefits as health insurance, holiday pay and pensions. We also strive to protect the health, safety and security of all our workers through the implementation of our policies in these areas.
Construction of the Uquo to Ikot Abasi gas pipeline involved employing more than 500 workers with a wide range of different skills. The vast majority of these workers were local to the pipeline route, which should benefit from long-term socio-economic development as a result of our presence.
