Increasing Nigerian content

At a national government level, 2010 was marked by the introduction of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act 2010, and we are mindful of the need to ensure compliance with this legislation as our operations develop.

As a Nigerian company, Septa Energy seeks to employ Nigerian nationals as far as possible and maximise its use of local contractors.

In 2010, we employed more than 500 workers from host communities to work on and support construction of our pipeline, and we are proud to report that we increased the percentage of Nigerian national employees from 87% at the end of 2009 to 88% at the end of 2010.
