The primary focus of Seven Energy in both Canada and Nigeria is gas field development, where we are seeking scalable opportunities to leverage our international standard operating capability to monetise undeveloped resources. To further our insight, we have developed specific capabilities and tools to assist in the identification and exploitation of undeveloped gas resources.

The Nigerian oil and gas business commenced in the 1950s and is now the country's largest industry and by far its largest export and earner of foreign currency. Despite having substantial discoveries of gas, both associated and non-associated, providing the 7th largest gas reserves base in the world (180Tcf), domestic gas development has not been a driver of the industry. That is now changing, and in the next few years gas field development will be a key challenge in Nigeria, as indigenous and international oil companies strive towards meeting the needs identified in the Nigerian Gas Masterplan to facilitate national industrialisation. Seven Energy is focussed on being a major player in the spirit of the Gas Masterplan.

Nigerian Gas Development Screening Tool

In order to ensure that our appraisal and development strategy is aligned with the needs of gas consumers and the growing industrial gas usage base, Seven has worked with several experts to develop a proprietary database of supply and demand in Nigeria, with forecasts for the next 30 years; this is based on Government and industry data as well as our own in-depth research and discussions with industry right down to the well and plant level. We have developed a proprietary gas balancing model which uses GIS technology along with the database to simulate demand and supply forecasts and how they vary with different market and resource assumptions. This model, and the knowledge base upon which it is constructed, provides Seven Energy with a unique insight into the Nigerian Gas Market and allows us to seek out opportunities which will be aligned with Nigeria's gas resources and the needs of people and industry, with the constraints of international energy supply, demand and pricing as well as Nigerian fiscal terms.

Seven Energy Screening Tool Capture

In Canada Seven has made use of the substantial amount of publicly available data as well as its own proprietary data to develop a subsurface map-based reservoir assessment tool to high-grade areas for further detailed assessment. This is a substantive tool in an area covering some 14 million acres, where having the capability of identifying high-grade sub-areas gives Seven Energy a competitive advantage in land and lease acquisition.
