About Seven Energy

What-we-do
How We Work

Our primary focus is gas field development - we seek scalable opportunities to leverage our international standard operating capability to monetise undeveloped resources.

Monetising Undeveloped Gas Resources

Nigeria contains over 600 discovered fields with more than 300 remaining undeveloped - gas reserves exceed 180Tcf with little developed for domestic market use. Seven Energy exists to exploit these undeveloped discoveries as vital feedstock for electricity and industry on a competitive basis.

Canada contains over 4Tcf of gas in shallow reservoirs in the world's largest and most expensive gas market - North America. Seven Energy Canada exists to leverage innovative subsurface and production technology to step-change the traditional financial returns of this resource.

International Standard Operating Capability

Seven Energy commenced operations in 2004 when founded by Weatherford International Ltd. Our initial projects in North America were technology intensive, embedding a strong operating capability within the company's culture. Our experience in directional, horizontal and underbalanced well drilling and completion, combined with fracture stimulation and production optimization in the US, Canada and Nigeria is underpinned by a systematic approach to project management and field development, rarely found in independent E&P companies. An ongoing strategic collaboration with Weatherford International Ltd maintains Seven Energy's access to its world-class technology and training infrastructure, which may be made available to our field partners.

Community and Environment

Seven Energy recognises the role it can and must play in interacting with the communities and environment in which it conducts business.  At Seven Energy we see Communities as our business partners in which we should invest for mutual benefit - a process we call "EmPowering Communities". We also maintain the highest international standards of Environmental impact management, allowing sustainable development of our hydrocarbon projects.

Financial Strength

Seven Energy recognises the critical role that a strong balance sheet plays in oil and gas field development. Following the management led buy out of Seven Energy from Weatherford International Ltd, the company has systematically strengthened its balance sheet and investor base with key investors including Capital International Private Equity Fund, Investec Private Equity Fund, Afrinvest's partners and Standard Bank. The company is therefore well capitalized to pursue its business plan of monetising gas discoveries in Nigeria and Canada.
