Seven Energy: Genesis, Purpose and Capability

Seven Energy is an independent gas development and production company founded in 2004 by Nigerian business executives and investors.

Since acquiring Weatherford International Ltd's ‘Seven Energy' Nigerian and Canadian E&P assets and international E&P management team in 2007, the group has focused on leveraging its international operating capability towards the emerging Nigerian gas market.  

Investment throughout 2008 from strategic long-term investors, including Afrinvest's principals, Capital International Private Equity Fund, Investec and Standard Bank, combines Seven Energy's international standard operating capability with Nigerian ownership and the necessary financial strength to pursue rapid growth in Nigeria and Canada.
