Seven Energy

Company Overview

Seven Energy at a glance

Seven Energy is an independent Nigerian oil and gas exploration, development and production company founded in 2004 as a division of Weatherford International, the oil service company. Following a management buy-out it merged with Exoro Energy, an indigenous Nigerian company, in 2007. With the backing of strategic long-term investors, the group has a unique focus on the emerging Nigerian gas market.

Seven Energy is a limited company with headquarters in Lagos and London. In Nigeria, the company operates through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Septa Energy Nigeria Limited.

We place a strong emphasis on forging the right partnerships to advance our interests in Nigeria.

  • Seven acquired a 62.5% interest in Universal Energy Resources Limited in March 2010, giving us an interest in the undeveloped Stubb Creek field.
  • In November 2010, Seven entered into a strategic alliance agreement with Petrofac, the global oil and gas engineering and project management group, with Petrofac also investing to acquire a significant equity interest in Seven Energy. This strategic alliance provides us with sustainable world-class project execution expertise and experience.
  • In September 2010, Seven entered into a strategic alliance with Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) to provide funding and technical services for the development of their interests in OMLs 4, 38 and 41.

We combine a highly-skilled management team, indigenous ownership and strong financial backing as we pursue a rapid growth strategy in the Nigerian energy sector.
