Accugas is Seven Energy's gas marketing, transportation and distribution subsidiary
Accugas is focused on developing infrastructure for the processing and transportation of gas in the South East Niger Delta to provide a long term supply of gas for power generation and as a lower cost fuel for local industry. This gas transportation network is centred on Seven Energy's two world scale gas fields at Uquo and Stubb Creek.
Accugas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Seven Energy and an affiliate of Septa Energy, the indigenous Nigerian oil and gas production and development company. The company is partnered with Akwa Ibom State to assist in the creation of an autonomous self-sufficient managed supply of gas in the South East Niger Delta. The result will be a local network for gas processing and transportation in the region to deliver over 1 Tcf of gas reserves.
Phase 1, Nearing Completion
The first phase of this infrastructure development is nearing completion with the construction of a 60 km pipeline from the Uquo field to Ikot Abasi, initially to supply gas to the newly commissioned 180 MW Ibom Power Plant.
Phase 2, Commencing in 2012
In December 2011, Accugas entered into a 20 year gas sales agreement to supply gas to Calabar NIPP. This will require the construction of an approximate 40km pipeline from Uquo to Oron. Initial design work for this pipeline has commenced.
Gas Processing Facility
In addition, Accugas is installing a 200 MMcf/d gas processing facility at Uquo to be operated by a joint venture company, Ekid Gas Processing Company. The first train of this facility is being constructed for commissioning in 2012.
